About This Tour

The standard 7-day Langtang Valley Trek begins with a 7 to 8-hour scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, winding through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche. From Syabrubesi, the trail climbs steadily over the next three days through dense oak and rhododendron forests via Lama Hotel and up to the traditional stone dwellings of Langtang Village before entering the wide glacial sanctuary of Kyanjin Gompa at 3,870 meters. On the fifth day, trekkers undertake an early morning acclimatization climb up high ridges like Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for breathtaking panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding glaciers before beginning the return journey. The trek concludes with a swift two-day descent back to Syabrubesi followed by a return drive to Kathmandu, requiring standard permits like the Langtang National Park entry permit and a TIMS card.

Frequently Asked Questions

The trek is rated as moderate. While it doesn't require technical climbing skills, it involves walking 5 to 7 hours a day over steep ascents, stone staircases, and uneven mountain terrain. It is suitable for beginners with a decent level of physical fitness and good cardiovascular endurance.

The highest elevation point is the summit of Tserko Ri (4,984m / 16,352ft) or Kyanjin Ri (4,773m), which you climb during the acclimatization day. The overnight stop at Kyanjin Gompa sits at 3,870 meters (12,697ft).

Yes, you need two mandatory permits:
Langtang National Park Entry Permit: Approx. NPR 3,000 (approx. USD $23)
TIMS Card (Trekkers' Information Management System): Approx. NPR 2,000 (approx. USD $15)

The prime seasons are Spring (March to May)—when rhododendrons bloom and weather is clear—and Autumn (September to November), which offers stable weather, crisp mountain views, and comfortable daytime temperatures.

You can trek independently (solo) without a guide, as the trail is straightforward, well-marked, and heavily traveled. However, many trekkers choose to hire a local guide or porter-guide for safety, cultural insights, and to support the local economy.

The trek starts in Syabrubesi, which is reached via a 7 to 8-hour drive from Kathmandu. You can take a local public bus or a shared jeep from the Machhapokhari bus park, or alternatively charter a private jeep for more comfort and flexibility.

Accommodation consists of rustic, twin-share teahouses run by local families. Rooms are basic (typically featuring two single beds with a mattress and blanket). Food-wise, teahouses serve hearty meals, most notably Dal Bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables), noodles, momos, soups, and Tibetan bread.

Yes. Because the trek climbs past 3,000 meters, Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a risk. Mitigate this by ascending gradually, staying well-hydrated (drinking 3+ liters of water daily), avoiding alcohol, and completing the scheduled acclimatization climb at Kyanjin Gompa.

There are no reliable ATM machines once you leave Kathmandu. You should carry enough cash (Nepalese Rupees) to cover your meals, bottled water, Wi-Fi or device charging fees, hot showers, and tips. Budget roughly NPR 3,000 to 5,000 (~$25–$40 USD) per day for independent expenses.

Romantic and Adventurous Getaway

I booked the 7 Days Langtang Trek as a surprise trip for my girlfriend, and it turned out to be absolutely magical. Shreeman Narayan Worldwide Tours handled everything flawlessly. Mr. Madhu, the boss of the company, arranged excellent service to our trip, even going out of his way to arrange a private room with the best possible views at every teahouse along the route. The hike from Kathmandu into the heart of the Himalayas was stunning, filled with rhododendron forests, suspension bridges, and dramatic peaks. Our guide gave us plenty of space to enjoy the journey as a couple while still providing fascinating insights into the local culture. It was the perfect mix of adventure and romance, thanks to Mr. Madhu's meticulous planning.

An unforgettable family trek in Langtang with an incredible guide!

We recently completed the 7-day Langtang Valley trek with Shreeman Narayan Worldwide Tours as a family, traveling with our 8 and 11-year-old kids. From start to finish, the team delivered an exceptional, seamless experience.

Trekking with children can be challenging, but our guide, Milan Babu Rai, made it an absolute breeze. Milan was exceptionally patient, kind, and attentive to the kids' pace and needs every step of the way, keeping them motivated and engaged throughout the journey. His local knowledge, professionalism, and warm hospitality made us feel safe and well-cared for at all times.

The stunning mountain views, cozy lodges, and the rich culture of the Langtang region made this an adventure of a lifetime for our entire family. We couldn't have asked for a better organization or guide. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking to explore Nepal!

Exceptional Hospitality and Local Culture

The 7 Days Langtang Trek from Kathmandu was my first trekking experience in Nepal, and Shreeman Narayan Worldwide Tours made it absolutely perfect. As a female traveling alone, safety was my primary concern. Mr. Madhu, the boss of the company, arranged excellent service to our trip and paired me with an incredibly respectful, professional, and knowledgeable guide. Mr. Madhu met with me before the trek to brief me on what to expect and ensure I had all the proper gear. The trek itself was beautiful, especially the hike up to Kyanjin Ri. The hospitality at every stop was heartwarming, and the logistics were handled with absolute precision. I am deeply grateful to Mr. Madhu and his team for making my Himalayan dream come true.
